This work includes fiction by many then first-time authors in English translation, including Kyoko Murata, Hiromi Itoh, and Yoshiko Shibaki, as well as master fiction writers whose work had not been widely translated or known in English such as Teru Miyamoto and “Decadent” novelist Ango Sakaguchi.
